Judy Glass- Writer
Award-winning reporter, stringer for The New York Times on Long Island for 15 years, and writer/editor for medical, financial, and trade publications, I taught high school English and journalism at Rutgers University in New Jersey and currently teach writing and literature classes online for the University of Phoenix. I continue to do freelance writing while working on a book and welcome inquiries and assignments. I am in the process of moving to Florida but will travel anywhere in this country or abroad, as in past assignments.
This website, which is under construction, provides a sampling of the 100s of articles I have published. Most of my articles in the New York Times - on politics, legislation, education, the environment, finance, medicine, and human interest - can be accessed as “Judy Glass Long Island” in the New York Times archives: www.nytimes.com.
The Articles page connects to my articles currently available on the internet. You can google “Judy Glass” for links to others in print and online. Medical and Financial page articles were published in print only.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Among my proudest accomplishments are Press Club Awards for articles in Harper’s Bazaar, Medical Tribune, and the New York Times, my monthly column in Cardiovascular Reviews & Reports, two Wall Street newsletters for investors that i helped to establish: IPO Aftermarket and Investor Relations Business, and the many brochures I created for NYU Medical Center, where I was an Associate in Public Affairs. In my last full time position, as New York Bureau Chief for the International Medical News Group (IMNG), a division of Harcourt Brace publishing, I reported on medical conferences all over this country and abroad.
An avid amateur photographer, I am posting photos from my trips and travels as well as some of my pet, Sisi. Photography that appears on my website is my exclusive property and may not be reprinted.
My freelance credentials and professional accomplishments are described in the Freelance Directory of The National Society of Professional Journalists; I have been a member since the 1980s.
